Lori, Appreciate your counsel very much. Long story short, the bottom line is that I'll probably just tint my front door and maybe the french door to the patio. Possibly low tint the two upstairs guest rooms. The shutters already provide glare and heat reduction and most if not all tint will compromise the ability to view the beauty of the shutters from the exterior. Guests in my home, especially women, are blown away by the shutters, which show equally well day and night but with mood lighting going in the evening they are spectacular in an understated way. The dark wood recommendation that you made was right on and reflects your experience and expertise. They are the best investment that I have made and saved me a fortune in otherwise necessary decor. (They enable me to go with a minimalist approach as they are indeed unmatched decor) I met with three other vendors, each of whom was competent and had distinct selling styles, but they all have a long way to go to approach your consultative selling skills. Hi Lori, Thanks so much for the quick response! The shutters are awesome for privacy and light control. I am also hopeful they will provide great insulation come summertime as I think I can already tell a difference. I have even had several neighbors email or comment on them from the outside!
