2 1/2" Faux Wood Blinds with Stately Valance
2 1/2" Faux Wood Blinds with Stately Valance. The larger slats create a more contemporary look and feel. They also create a wider gap, allowing for more light to flow into the room. 2 1/2" slats also have less slats than a 2" blind which creates a smaller stack when raised. And besides the beautiful look they provide, let's not forget that they are easier to maintain because there are less slats to clean and more room in between for the duster!
Stunning Norman Shutters
This customer needed a solution to her old, not-so-white, vertical blinds. With the high ceilings and narrow, unique windows, she wanted something rich looking that was easy to maintain and had that WOW factor. What better way to make a statement than with Shutters! With their timeless style and character, Shutters can blend in beautifully with any traditional or modern furnishings. They offer insulation in the winter to keep the cold air out as well as save on your cooling costs in the summer. These Shutters have a 3 1/2" louver with a hidden tilt for a more modern look. They have a beautiful sill cap to cover her existing window sills and a decorative trim to finish off the look perfectly. Shutters are the perfect way to increase the value of any home and get your neighbors talking!
Roman shades are a wonderful way to combine the softness of a drapery with the function of a blind. This tailored, Plain Style Roman shade was chosen because the customer wanted something warm and inviting. Due to the small size of the room, with the bed pushed up to the window, drapes were not a practical option. The white roman shade with a standard cotton liner keeps light flowing into the room while giving guests the privacy they need. The color was chosen because it was a close match to the trim color and can allow the customer to change the room's style in the future.
Stationary Drapery Panels
Stationary Drapery panels are an excellent way to warm up a room with a very large window. If privacy and sun protection is not an issue, drapery panels can frame out a window beautifully while keeping your view of the outdoors. This fabric was suggested to allow for the grey color to flow from one wall to the next creating a beautiful balance. The branch and leaf pattern was meant to bring a little of the outdoors in while the colors tie into the warm cream color on the majority of the walls.
Soft Fold Roman Shade
Because there are so many hard surfaces in kitchens, Roman Shades can add that softness that every kitchen needs. This fabric was a perfect fit to tie in all the colors and tones of the kitchen, giving it a splash of pattern as
a soft, light filtering effect to cozy up the space.
Soft Window Treatments
With a window that is over 14' wide, this customer needed something to take away the hard edges and frame the space nicely. The pleated sheers were chosen to create a silhouette effect and that soft, airy feel the she wanted. The stationary pleated drapery panels were chosen to take away the hard lines and to help define the space. To avoid the distraction of one solid decorative rod above the window, two smaller rods were suggested to give the window a bit more drama without taking away from the drapery fabric and soft sheers.

Not all windows in a home require or benefit from the same treatment. In an open-concept floor plan where one space is a little bit more casual than the other and the windows have different functions, a great way to create flow is to do a combination of traditional drapery with a more casual and modern roman shade. These roman shades were made in the same fabric as the drapery, but sit in a casual family room and offer the privacy and coziness that the customer needed.
