Bolton Home Remodel - New Window Treatments!

Living Room

Our living room and dining room has high vaulted ceilings and is very open. We have high up windows, lower windows and French doors, so we needed to consider function as well as aesthetics. We love all the natural light the room has, but wanted to control and subdue it, and of course, it had to be beautiful. The view to the outside is lovely, any time of the year, and we wanted to be able to see the pond and waterfall so we selected unlined woven grass shades from our exclusive Inspired Shades line for all the windows. The shades in the upper windows are motorized for ease of use with one touch of a button. The lower shades are cordless so no messy dangling cords to deal with. The shade material is a refined grass weave in a slate blue color and shimmers when the light comes through it. There are many times during the day, which we call magic time, when they look especially stunning. The drapery side panels added the luxury that the room needed to look complete. They are a part of our Inspired Drapes line made by our partner Lafayette out of Indiana. The embroidered branch pattern on the stone colored faux silk flows with the height of the room and softens the hard surfaces. Since I didn’t need them to function, I used a little less fabric, and opted for a heavier lining, to give the fabric more visual volume. The drapery hardware is the “jewelry” of the treatment with clear acrylic rods and black finials with rhinestones accents. Who doesn’t want a little bling? What an amazing transformation, I still can’t believe that it is my same room with the same furniture. *Master Bedroom Makeover in Mukilteo, Washington!*

Our client, Kate, had always wanted to finish the look of her Master Bedroom Window using decorative treatments, but never found the right company that she wanted to work with. She loved the function of our Hunter Douglas Luminette window treatments, but thought that they were too neutral and blended in with the walls too much. She wanted some contrast and soft framing of the window! The color and texture of the fabric we ended up choosing coordinated with the bedding. As soon as the window treatment went up, the room instantly felt warmer and more inviting. The client loves the outcome and so do we - which always makes our day!

Our client in Lake Stevens had dark features throughout her house with huge floor-to-ceiling windows so she was looking for something that would soften the overall look of her home, without compromising the natural light that came in. We chose a beautiful sheer fabric from Signature Series called Bayview in Moonrise and it is a fully-functional drapery piece, so you can close it during the day to allow privacy but also let the light in and be able to see outside, or have it completely pulled open to allow full sunlight to come through and then it serves as more of a decorative panel. To finish the look and tie in the rest of her dark woods and gray decor, we opted for some modern 10" flat cornices in a Lafayette fabric called Embrace Stone. The customer is very pleased with the outcome and absolutely loves having the natural light come through while having something beautiful on her windows!
