For Stephanie, the answer started with flexibility.
“I had just had my first child and realized I’d never have the kind of flexibility in my corporate job that my husband had working in a family business,” she says. “I also grew up with entrepreneurial parents—I knew what it looked like to build something that gave you freedom.”

With a passion for design and a desire to create something meaningful, she opened her Budget Blinds franchise with no staff, no showroom, and a second baby on the way. In those early days, she did everything herself—from measuring and sales to installation and customer service.
