Fabric Roller Shades
As an alternative to a vertical blind this customer choose fabric roller shades. These shades are made out of the same material as her roman shades in in the same room (not pictured). We used a wood cornice that matched the trim to hide the shades when they are up.
Vertical Cellular with Top Treatment

Here is a vertical cellular. This is a popular option to shield the sun and block the cold. For those of you that don't like typical verticals here is a solution. Compare this picture as it stands alone and with a fabric top treatment. Which do you like?

This is a stationary cellular for an arch window. There are more options for this type of window.
Cordless Roman Shade
Here is a Roman Shade that is cordless. Our vendor B&W has the patent for this shade. It is also made in Northern Illinois.
This customer didn't want blinds. Custom Drapery gave them the look they wanted. They were able to customize the drapery pole with a wide selection of finials.
Wood Blinds with Eleganza Valance
To give this blind a bolder presence we upgraded the valance to a 4 1/2 inch Eleganze valance. We matched colors with the mantel.
Here is a shutter at a sink window. This will be easy to clean. Just make sure the panels will clear the faucet. That is why we used a bifold panel.
B&W Adverte Now a Preferred Vendor
This is a B&W Adverte. They have recently become a preferred vendor with Budget Blinds. If you don't like typical verticals this maybe for you. Pictured is the double valance with ties and 20% fullness. This is the Holland Mesh. For us people from Northern Illinois it is nice to know that this item is manufactured in Waukegan, Illinois.

Solar Shades Store Front
Here is the view from inside the Hallmark Store in McHenry, IL 60050. These blinds help shield the sun. They also make sure the snow globes don't turn into laser beams.
This is the Hallmark Store in McHenry, IL 60050. We installed Solar shades for them. It was a fun installation because the shades are installed up into a soffit.
You can see how the cellular blinds fits completely under the wood cornice. This gives the customer full view of the door and back yard. This is in McHenry, IL 60051
I typically don't put horizontal window treatments on vertical doors. In this case we installed a motorized cellular so there would be no corded controls in the door way and it is easier to operate than a cordless blind. The wood cornice hides the blind when closed. This is in McHenry, IL 60051
B&W Roman Shades
You can see how these make a valance in the up position.
These side by side Roman Shades are from B&W a local manufacture. They are cordless with black out lining. When in the up position they make a great valance.
Signature Series Wood Shutter
This is a bifold shutter with an upper and lower set of louvers. The color matches perfectly with the crown molding.
The Signature Series Murano functions like a louvered blind but filters light like a cellular blind. It has wood accents that work well when framed by wood trim. This is from a house in Spring Grove, IL 60081
Sun Room / Solarium After
We used products from Draper to solve the heat and glare problems in this room. Flex Shade Panels are used on the ceiling and are in a fixed position. You can also order the FlexShade Panels for odd shaped windows. Flex Shades with clutches are used on the walls.
Sunroom/ Solarium Before
This sunroom-solarium was very hot. It was hard to sit in this room because of the glare and heat. The heat from this room also made the house hot. We used Draper products to solve these issues. The customer wanted to be able to remove the sun screen product for the ceiling during the winter. For this reason we went with fixed panels. You can also get skylight solar products with Draper.
Living Room with Shutters
Look at the living room now with shutters. You can see how the white shutters stand out with the paint color. It makes the shutters even bolder.

Here are the shutters installed. These are tilt less-no tilt rod. They have a divider so that there is a upper and lower section of louvers.

These are light filtering cellulars with a cord loop. They are in the open position. There is very little stack height.
Horizons Woven Woods
With so many styles you can have a different look in each room. With a black out liner they will look the same from the outside.
These Window Shadings from Enlightened Style provide eloquence for the bedroom. You can see the view of the lake and still have privacy. The one over the bed is half way up.

Woven Wood Horizons
This woven wood is made locally at Horizons Shades. Is has a continues cord which is child safety conscious. It also has a black out liner for room darkening.
These are the bedroom shutters from our Testimonial Nancy & Bob K in Fox Lake. The shutter louvers are open. They can be easily closed to provide privacy and room darkening.
This window faces west. The customer had terrible sun light at the dinning table. We installed a motorized solar shade. This cut down and reduced the sun light while maintaining a view. The customer was able to enjoy their meals without wearing sunglasses. Since the window was up high- motorization allows them to control it.
The cellulars above are motorized. The cellulars below are cordless. This means the customer can control the upper blinds with a remote and at floor level by hand. The wood cornices match the mantel.
These woven woods provide a lot of depth and character.

This is one type of application for an arch window. You can also chose others.

This cellular blind was paired with a drapery. This layered effect added elegance to the room.

Here is a matching Cellular Vertical and Cellular Horizontal. Cellular blinds are great at insulating and filtering light. This vertical is very easy to operate. Our customer choose to upgrade with a wood cornice.

With Faux Iron you can add an architecural feature to your room. This add a great focal point to your room.

These Signature Murano Soft Fashion window treatments were combined with Double Hobbled Horizon valances. The black ties matched with the black tapes on the blind.
Here is another picture of the Signature Murano Soft Fashion window treatments. From this vantage point you can see the whole room. We did the same valances over the kitchen windows and used a Horizon's Adverte on the sliding door.
These woven woods add texture to this kitchen while complimenting the cabinets. They will filter light and reduce glare. A liner can be added for privacy and to reduce more light.

These 2 inch Faux Wood blinds matched the furniture well. Faux wood can add the richness of wood.
