Rob & Jill Cooper
Co-Owners
Rob and Jill Cooper love what they do and it shows! Their sense of fun and professionalism is engrained in their work culture, embraced by their team, and enjoyed by their clients.
When Rob and Jill first met in 1998 they had no idea their journey would take them into the “sexy” world of window coverings. They were both enjoying successful, but separate, careers when they shared their plans of opening a Budget Blinds franchise together. Jill’s dad responded with “Blinds?! What do you want to do that for?!” And Dad wasn’t the only one to raise an eyebrow. Friends and family also wondered how well they could live and work together, but Rob and Jill have enjoyed their journey since day one. After 14 years of working together to build their business, today no one questions their commitment to each other and their passion for what they do.
Here is what Rob and Jill love about their Budget Blind business:
-
Being “blind geeks” and recognized experts in a niche industry.
-
Being challenged daily with all aspects of running this crazy business; solving problems, planning, growing, learning…always learning.
-
Having the flexibility to work around the needs of their two daughters and all of their activities. Some days are made for warriors!
-
Getting to know some really neat people, being invited into their homes, sharing time and ideas to create spaces they’ll love. The best experience is the ‘before and after’ effect of transforming their homes.
-
Having the best team. Rob and Jill are privileged to work with people they admire and laugh with on a daily basis.
-
Being in a position to give back to their community with great organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Wounded Warriors, and Sorrentino’s Compassion House. Through their business, Rob and Jill also love to support local charities, events, and teams.
-
Enjoying what they do growing each and every day!

Rob Cooper
The Detail Guy
Rob loves our people and feels pride when they “take a challenge in hand and make it right”. He supports each team member to do their best at what they do. Also known around the office as “the detail guy”, Rob keeps us all on our toes and learning each step of the way. Having sold, installed and trained on all of our products hundreds of times, Rob makes sure that each product solution is the best fit for your space: practical, functional and looks great!
Away from the office Rob loves travel, music and “hanging with my family.” Rob also enjoys volunteering for his daughters’ school, soccer and dance. Personally and with Budget Blinds, Rob supports multiple community organizations like “Habitat for Humanity which “has had a soft spot in my heart ever since ever since I became aware of it.”

Jill Cooper
Big Picture Gal
Jill’s passion for interior design and background in marketing were the genesis for her and Rob starting their business in the design-focused industry of window coverings. Today Jill’s creative style can be seen in the gorgeous Budget Blinds showroom on Edmonton’s south side. Always looking ahead for ways to grow their business and to create a better client experience, Jill’s enthusiasm is embraced by the team in a work culture that is both fun and professional with everyone working to better client expectations.
At home Jill remains constantly busy keeping up with two pre-teen girls and all of their activities. Jill spends her downtime cooking, gardening, walking or riding her bike, and staying connected with friends. Most evenings she spends with Rob watching favourite shows and dreaming of their next travel destination.

Naythan is one well-rounded individual. He is a self-described people-person and “song & dance man” who provides excellent design and consultation services for our clients. Naythan is also a bit of a techie who enjoys sharing his interest and knowledge of our home automation products with both clients and staff. In-house we really appreciate Naythan’s abilities to keep our office systems upgraded and running smoothly.
At home Naythan enjoys spending his free time with his wife, sons, and their three pets. He also likes to sing in his car, at the office, and pretty much everywhere.

Melissa
Melissa combines a keen eye for design with years of experience in home décor and interior aesthetics. She is passionate about helping homeowners create spaces that are both beautiful and functional, with every recommendation tailored to their lifestyle and vision.
What Melissa enjoys most about being a Design Consultant is working with clients in the comfort of their own homes. As she puts it, "My design approach is client-focused. I believe it's an honour to be invited into someone's home, and I never take that trust for granted."
Although she wasn't born in Edmonton, Melissa has proudly embraced the city and loves exploring its beautiful River Valley trails and vibrant festivals. An avid traveler, she dreams of wandering through world-class museums, admiring historic cathedrals, and hiking among ancient ruins. When she's at home, you'll likely find her listening to history or crime-drama podcasts, spending quality time with family, or enjoying a generously sized bowl of ice cream.

Brittany
Showroom Consultant
As a graduate of fashion design school who has successfully showcased her designs in Western Canadian Fashion Week, Brittany has found herself a real home in our design centre. She loves being able to "express my creativity and help customers work towards the vision they have for their homes". Brittany also enjoys the "family atmosphere and working with a personality and fun-filled team".
Brittany is a small-town girl who discovered she loved city life when she moved to Edmonton a decade ago. When not working, Brittany continues to pursue design in crafting, sketching designs, creating home decor and jewelry. Or, you might find Brittany curling up with her 2 cats to watch true crime dramas and Elvis movies.

Anne
Administrative Officer
Anne is our uber-organizer who keeps everything and everyone in our offices on track and in its place. In her own words "I love my job and what I do. I love working with our small team as we can each be our quirky selves". Anne and her cohort Nazima keep teammates on our toes with frequent jokes and pranks.😁
Anne is a bit of an Energizer-bunny who rarely stops doing - working, crafting, baking, volunteering, spending time with family and her grand kids. When she does take a break you will find Anne enjoying the outdoors in Edmonton's parks and river valley trails.
-
Nazima (Naz)
Administrative Assistant
Our camera-shy Naz is the friendly voice of our team, assisting clients and colleagues alike with cheerful deftness to fulfill requests and to keep things running smoothly. Staff members know not to get in Naz's way as distractions make her feisty - or so say the many warning signs posted around her desk. 😉 Naz refers to teammates as "the weird people who work here", and we all adore her quiet sarcasm.
A begrudging Edmontonian (her family hail from a tropical island), Naz is a self-described "boring-as-dirt" hermit who loves reading, recipes and big puzzles - but then she talks about knocking down walls to make room for a 20,000 piece master puzzle and her tongue-in-cheek sarcasm reveals itself once more...

Chris
Installer
Chris is a seasoned window coverings installer, having trained and worked with another Budget Blinds location in British Columbia.
Since returning to Edmonton, he has enjoyed settling back into the community and exploring the city's vibrant cultural scene—taking in events such as the Fringe Theatre Festival and Taste of Edmonton. He also makes the most of Edmonton’s scenic river valley, often enjoying a lunchtime walk to recharge.
When asked what he enjoys most about his work, Chris says it’s “meeting a wide variety of people in and around the city.”
Outside of work, Chris is an avid handyman who enjoys tackling construction projects. He also loves camping and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

Adam
Adam loves the variety that comes with being a Window Coverings Installer, where no two days are ever the same. Whether he's meeting new clients, travelling to different homes, or putting the finishing touches on a beautiful installation, he takes pride in delivering an exceptional experience from start to finish.
His favourite part of the job? As Adam says, "Seeing our clients' smiles and excitement when the installation is complete. Looking back at the finished space and seeing how the window coverings transform the room is incredibly rewarding. And on top of that, the team I work with feels like family."
Outside of work, Adam enjoys spending time with people, pups, and the outdoors. You'll often find him exploring Edmonton on his motorcycle, walking his dog along the city's beautiful river valley trails, or taking advantage of the city's vibrant nightlife.
