Why Budget Blinds of North New Bern and New Bern

Owner Charlie Utz, has been in the window covering industry for over 18 years. As owner of two Budget Blinds franchises that serve Morehead City, New Bern and Greenville North Carolina, Charlie has established a strong team of Design Consultants, Customer Service Staff and Professional Installers. His team works closely with the leading window fashion suppliers to provide the highest level of products, services and warranties. His projects include East Carolina University, Vidant Health, WITN-TV, Craven County Schools and Crystal Coast Civic Center. Budget Blinds of Morehead City, New Bern and Greenville specialize in Motorized Shades, Home Automation, Plantation Shutters, and many other interior products. They also have a full service line of exterior products including Hurricane Protection Shutters and exterior screens.  

Mary is the wife and partner of Charlie Utz. She joined the Budget Blinds of Morehead City, New Bern and Greenville team after a 30 year career in banking where she served as a Human Resources Consultant. Mary is a graduate of North Carolina State University. Mary and Charlie have two wonderful children and a Golden Retriever. Mary enjoys traveling and being on and around the water.   

Caroline is our Administrative Coordinator and has been part of the Budget Blinds team for four years. Honest, reliable, and thoughtful, she takes pride in being someone her team can depend on and helping keep everyone connected, organized, and successful. Outside of work, Caroline loves spending time with her family, traveling, tackling home projects, and enjoying a round of golf or a day on the boat.

Bri is our Office Manager and describes herself as dependable, kind, and positive. She loves being part of a team that genuinely enjoys working together and is proud of how much she has grown during her time with Budget Blinds. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find Bri reading, running, or spending time with her kids—and she might surprise you with just how much she can deadlift!

Brittany is our Order Specialist and brings an independent, creative, and genuine personality to our team. She enjoys working through the details of each order, solving questions along the way, and helping make the process as smooth as possible for our customers. Outside of work, Britt enjoys photography, reading, DIY projects, houseplants, and spending time with her family.

Maggi is our Showroom/Sales Coordinator and describes herself as quirky, curious, and creative. She loves learning the “hows and whys” behind what we do and getting to know our customers, products, and services along the way. Outside of work, Maggi enjoys gardening, reading, drawing, decorating, true crime podcasts, and spending time outside with her kids.

Jodi is our Sales Manager and has been part of the Budget Blinds team for 12 years. Caring, determined, and thoughtful, she loves helping her team, solving problems, and seeing everyone work together to take care of our customers. Outside of work, Jodi enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and watching documentaries.

Matt is our Senior Design Consultant and has been part of the Budget Blinds team for 14 years. Honest, loyal, and dedicated, he enjoys meeting new people and, most importantly, seeing his customers happy with the finished result. Matt is proud of the role he has played in helping grow the company over the years, and when he’s not working, you can usually find him golfing or spending time with his dog.

Ryan is a Design Consultant who brings a personable, direct, and good-humored approach to every project. He enjoys meeting new people, building lasting relationships with his customers, and has a knack for rolling with the punches and helping wherever he’s needed. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and son, hunting, fishing, and golfing.

Jeff is a Design Consultant with more than eight years of experience on our Budget Blinds team. Driven, dependable, and honest, he enjoys the challenge of earning a customer’s business and takes pride in consistently delivering for both his customers and his team. Outside of work, Jeff enjoys offshore fishing, hunting, basketball, and spending time with his kids.

Michael is our Operations & Warehouse Lead and brings a passionate, dedicated, and driven approach to his role. He enjoys seeing our team grow together and takes pride in helping bridge the gaps that keep everything moving behind the scenes. A New York sports fan, Michael cheers for both the Yankees and Giants and believes our small team is capable of doing some pretty big things.

Jared is one of our experienced installers and has been part of the Budget Blinds team for nearly five years. Honest and easygoing, he takes pride in being dependable, working hard, and helping the team problem-solve to get the job done right. When he’s not installing, Jared enjoys relaxing, spending time with his daughters, and cheering on the Carolina Panthers.

Jay Jay is one of our installers and describes himself as resourceful, dedicated, and helpful. He takes pride in being someone the team can count on whenever help is needed and believes in always putting the customer’s best interests first. Outside of work, Jay Jay enjoys spending time with family and fishing—although, according to him, working might qualify as a hobby too!

Eric is one of our experienced installers and has been with Budget Blinds for six years. Kind, efficient, and likable, he takes pride in his work ethic and says his favorite part of the job is the team he gets to work alongside. Outside of work, Eric enjoys traveling and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and Duke basketball.

Josh is one of our installers and is known for being honest, easygoing, and helpful. He takes pride in his work ethic, being a team player, and contributing to a team he genuinely enjoys working with. Outside of work, Josh loves traveling, fishing, spending time with family, and cheering on the LA Lakers—and he also holds certifications in HVAC, marine painting, and fiberglass.
