Adam and Tara Balding are originally from southwest Minnesota and moved to Sioux Falls in December 2006. In 2009 they decided to purchase the Budget Blinds franchise that was originally located in Brookings, South Dakota and move it to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. One of the reasons they chose Budget Blinds over other franchises was the advantage of being able to offer quality products at a competitive price while being locally owned. Hi, I’m Shelby! I’m a design consultant with Budget Blinds, helping homeowners, builders, and designers create beautiful, functional window treatments with a smooth, easy process from start to finish.

 After graduating from South Dakota State University, I began my career in a few managerial roles, where I built a strong foundation in organization, leadership, and client service. While I’ve always had an interest in design, the opportunity at Budget Blinds felt like the perfect fit and the right next step.

 I take a thoughtful, design-driven approach to each project, creating solutions that feel elevated, functional, and tailored to each space.

 Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, traveling when I can, staying active through running and biking, and being outside as much as possible.
