How to Decorate Window Coverings with Pantone’s Spring 2014 Trend Colours

In the fashion world, designers are getting ready to take their Spring collections down the catwalk. In conjunction, the color authorities at Pantone released the hot hues you'll see on runways, in stores, and on the street as the weather warms. Our job: Take those colors and show you how to use them in your homes with window coverings and accent pillows. After all, much like an outfit, every room needs a pop of color!

DAZZLING BLUE

This roller shade has a cute button with colour blocking in the right-hand corner which adds whimsy. Partnering the dazzling blue with reds is a great way to punch up the boldness.

PLACID BLUE

These area's furnishings are awash in a sea of blues, but slight variations in tone and subtle floral prints or geometric patterns take the place of sharply contrasting hues.

HEMLOCK

Using the hemlock colour as an accent in the drapery, pillows, bedding, and lampshades paired with neutrals creates a very soothing and fresh palette for this bedroom.

CELOSIA ORANGE

This bold colour can be used in splashes for drapery and you can pair it with a contrasting colour for balance. 

PALOMA

Greys still reign as a popular neutral, but it doesn’t have to be boring! We used the Paloma grey in this striped roller shade with shades of light greys and black which almost creates an accent wall. Another great way is to use grey to colour block in drapery.

FREESIA

Another bold fresh colour can be used for drapery and accent pillows. Here the yellow is paired with the Paloma grey so that it doesn’t feel too overpowering.
