Why Budget Blinds of Topeka & Manhattan

As a woman leading a million-dollar business in a traditionally male domanted industry, Kristi O'Kane is an absolute powerhouse in the workforce and in the community. Since becoming an owner of Budget Blinds of Topeka and Manhattan in 2015, Kristi has built her business around her passion for helping people-and finding the right window covering for every customer, every home, and every need.

Before becoming a Budget Blinds owner, Kristi spent many years as a para-educator and licenced childcare professional, as well as managing retail floor space.Those experiences give her a deep appreciation for the importance of showing  up for others, listenings to their needs, and helping people feel supported- values she carries with her every day in both her business and her community involvement.

Family is at the heart of everything Kristi does. As a proud mom and Namma, she understands the importance of investing in the community and people that shape the lives of our children. This is evedent by her continued support and involvement in orginizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, First Tee, the Team Blake Foundation, Build My Future, and many more. 

For Kristi, giving back isn't just writing a check or putting her name on a list-it's about being present, building connections, and making a meaningful difference wherever she can. Wether she's helping a customer find the perfect solution for their home or supporting the local community, her goal is the same: to make people feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Chris is the newest member of the Budget Blinds family. He loves to play video games, play soccer, and workout. Having recently moved to Topeka from Emporia looking for more work oppertunities, Chris says he lucked out when he found Budget Blinds! His favorite part of the job is seeing all of the unique and beautiful homes we install in and getting to meet EVERY customer.

Keith has many talents.  Besides being an amazing design consultant, Keith was also our lead installer for over 2 years.  While Keith can do any window covering, he specializes in shutters, exterior shades, and specialty shapes.

Keith lives with his beautiful wife and son in Topeka. They have a dog (Prima) and a cat (Bell).

Miguel joined the Budget Blinds team in 2017.  He has continued to stay here because of "...the great flexibility and work-life balance..." Miguel grew up in the Topeka area and loves to be outside and playing sports.  He and his lovely wife have 3 children and a golden retriever.

Miguel is a seasoned install professional and his attention to detail is second to none!  Plus, he has an amazing personality.  He keeps the Budget Blinds family constantly laughing!

Nicole was born and raised in the Topeka and Auburn area.  She graduated Washburn Technical Institute with a certificate in Office Technology.  She loves talking with customers and being the face and voice of the Budget Blinds of Topeka & Manhattan team.

Nicole has 3 children that keep her free time busy with sports and dancing events.  She loves being outdoors.  Especially in the summer when she likes to go to the lake and swim and soak up the sun
